Zach is a lifelong citizen of Wytheville, Virginia, where he lives with his wife Emily and daughter Bella. He is the author of the weekly newspaper column, Strictly Observing, which has run in the Wytheville Enterprise since July 2005. He is also the creator and host of the podcast, Zach’s At It Again, which is available on YouTube, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.
Born with cerebral palsy, Zach has self-published six traveling memoirs, which provide autobiographical information and disability awareness. He has also written seven children’s books, a novel, as well as a tribute to his dad, Herb Cooley: The Law Enforcement Legacy of My Father. He has also written a book on the seminal album by Dusty Springfield, Dusty in Memphis: Chronicle of a Classic.
